We cashed betting against the Knicks in their last game, a 107-89 loss in Orlando on Wednesday, but at least they are now well rested for this one. New York was supposed to play the Spurs on Saturday, but that was postponed due to COVID issues with San Antonio. The T-Pups have dropped three straight and those were all at home. They are 5-8 ATS on the road. Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau formerly was in that role with the Timberwolves.
The Timberwolves enter this matchup having lost seven of their last eight games. On top of that, six of the setbacks were by at least six points. The Knicks currently own the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference, are 7-6 at home and have been energized by the acquisition of Derrick Rose. Add in D’Angelo Russell (knee) being out for Minnesota and I like New York to cover.
The Knicks have had three days to prepare for the 7-23 Timberwolves. New York is coming off a bad loss and this game means a lot to Tom Thibodeau, who was fired by Minnesota despite doing a good job with the talent he had. Lay the small number.
