For goodness' sake, the Rockets are -3 in the first half and -2 for the first quarter. If they're expected to be up three points at half, I feel really good about -3 for the game. Favorites of -5 and -5.5 are usually 3-point favorites at the half. This isn't the reason I like this game, however. I have the Rockets power rated one point less than Golden State. I think the home crowd with its energy will supply the Rockets a huge boost. I'm thinking the home court is worth five points, and I'm adding two more for the situation. Houston down 2-0 is a must-win situation and Golden State a time to let down. Both games this year in Houston the Rockets were -4. James Harden will have his best game, and as for the officials, they just might be pro-Houston tonight.
Last night’s four-overtime game between Denver and Portland as well as Milwaukee vs. Boston’s ease for an Over is sure to impact bettors' minds Saturday. Golden State and Houston were the new-era teams of 2013-2014 that boosted totals years in advance. The free flow of both teams will be on display as usual, but expect a competitive game to hinder the high total. That and both teams' benches are underachieving in this series. Grab the Under tonight.
This year series has been dominated by Golden State. This seems to be the case for 2019 as the Warriors handled their business on their home floor in Game 1 and Game 2. With the Rockets having issues with James Harden’s eye and Chris Paul’s woes, Game 3 is amped up even more. It’s a must-win for the Rockets and the Warriors know it. Yet expect Houston to make this a competitive series and cover the number Saturday.
The Rockets fell just short in both games at Golden State despite their stars not playing well, but I like some home cooking to do them well in Game 3 at home. It's desperation, the last stand almost -- a must win. This is a great bounce-back spot and I'm expecting Chris Paul and James Harden to both play better and get the win with no urgency or resistance from the Warriors. Rockets get the cover.
This is the Rockets' season. They've had all week to stew over their performances at Oracle. Look for them to come out more aggressively and attack the rim more with Clint Capela. Lay the small number.
