The 2021 World Series returns to Houston for Game 6 on Tuesday night between the Braves and Astros. It's the 69th time the Fall Classic has been 3-2, and the team with that lead has gone on to win the series 45 times, or 66.2 percent. While Caesars Sportsbook oddsmakers list the Braves as short Game 6 underdogs, Atlanta outfielder/DH Jorge Soler is now the +500 favorite to win World Series MVP. Click here for model picks of Game 6.

In the 68 previous occurrences of a World Series being 3-2, the team with the 3-2 lead has won Game 6 only 38.2 percent of the time (26). Of the 42 times a team leading 3-2 has lost Game 6, that club has won the series 19 times (45.2%). The last four teams with a 3-2 lead to lose Game 6 and win the series were the 2017 Astros, 2014 Giants, 1997 Marlins and 1975 Reds. Atlanta is -220 on the series line and Houston +180.

Because the designated hitter in back in play in the American League park, that's where Soler should be playing Tuesday as he did in Games 1-2. Soler is 5-for-17 in the series with two homers, three RBIs and two runs scored. He had the game-winning, pinch-hit solo homer in the seventh inning of Game 4.

Teammates Adam Duvall (+650), Freddie Freeman (+750) and Austin Riley (+900) follow Soler on the MVP odds with Jose Altuve the shortest-priced Astros player at +900. Riley leads all Braves with a .381 average in the series and has knocked in three. Duvall has a team-high six RBIs thanks in large part to the grand slam in the bottom of the first of Game 5. He is the +275 favorite tonight to hit a homer. Soler is +300.

The Astros on Sunday became the fourth team in World Series history to win an elimination game after trailing by four-or-more runs. Altuve is hitting only .200 in the series but does have two solo homers. While the MVP is for the World Series only, Altuve has scored 21 runs in these playoffs, tied for the most by any player in a single postseason.

Lefty Max Fried will start Game 6 for Atlanta. He was one of the NL's best pitchers in the second half of the regular season but was shelled in his last NLCS start vs. the Dodgers (five runs in 4.2 innings) and then again in Game 2 against Houston, allowing six runs in five innings. Early innings were a problem in both as against L.A. he gave up three runs in the second and another in the third. Against Houston, Fried allowed one in the first and four in the second.

Astros rookie right-hander Luis Garcia was not good his first two postseason outings but shut out Boston on one hit over 5.2 innings in Game 6 of the ALCS and allowed one run over 3.2 innings in Game 3 vs. Atlanta.
