Miami has been one of the better over teams this season. But the Braves have been the best under team, so something has to give. Five of the first seven games between these two have gone under nine runs, with one push. It’s a bullpen day for Miami who, despite their ability to score runs, have the 6th best bullpen in the NL, 3.68 ERA. The Braves offensive struggles have continued, hitting .232 over their last seven days.

All of our other books have 17.5, and I'm guessing this doesn't last long -- probably Sugar House simply trying to drive action. Fine by me. The Atlanta rookie Spencer Schwellenbach -- has to be among the longest last names in MLB history without a hyphen; the record holder is Cincy's Christian Encarnacion-Strand -- has gone at least six in four straight and seven in two of those. The punchless Marlins haven't seen him. The Braves used four key relievers last night so I'd expect a decent leash here.
There isn't much left for the Marlins this season other than hoping to avoid 100 losses. Not sure that's going to be easy after a big sell-off at the trade deadline, so we don't think it really matters which pitcher Skip Schumaker decides to use tonight in Atlanta. Meanwhile, the Braves might be stirring with wins in five of six, easing to a win in the opener of this 4-game weekend set last night, and the Phils suddenly coming within sight again atop the NL East. Spencer Schwellenbach is also off of his best effort of the season on the mound, spinning seven shutout innings while allowing only two hits in a 4-0 win over the Mets last Saturday. Play Braves on Run Line
These Fish have stunk pretty much all season, especially on the road. The Marlins played over their heads for a few weeks and got gutted at the deadline and this is a AAAA operation. And just when it looked like the Bravos were dead, they're back. Spencer Schwellenbach was superb in 3 of his last 4 starts. Braves are 5-1 vs MIA, outscoring them by 14 runs. Braves have won 4 of 5, Marlins gonna lose a lot more blowouts
