Mets have an underrated lefty (Marlins lineup the worst v lefties) Marlins pen is fried…. Marlins starter is bad
This pick was a bust Tuesday but maybe the Mets were flat off that London trip. Too much Guinness can do that. The Marlins did use their best reliever by far, closer Tanner Scott, for two innings in the 4-2 victory so he surely will not be available tonight. Lefty David Peterson has been good in both starts this year for New York and has a 2.06 ERA in 25 career innings vs. the Marlins. Miami has the worst OPS in the majors against southpaws and third-worst batting average. It's Braxton Garrett (5.81 ERA) for the Marlins and I'll be considering a Pete Alonso total bases prop as he's 7-for-18 with two homers career off Garrett.
The Fish stink, as we all know. Braxton Garrett has a problem with the Mets, getting knocked around in 4 of his last 5 starts against them, including allowing 6 ER in 4 IP vs them last month. Pete Alonso, Francisco Lindor, Sterlin Marte and, heck, even Jeff McNeil have done damage against him. David Pederson has been strong for the Mets since a late start to the season. Fish have an almost unfathomable .591 OPS vs lefties (of course dead last) and 11 HRs vs them (3rd fewest).
