Maybe a few oil-rig firefighters, paratroopers, harried commodity traders, or various other daredevils might not think it a risk to back the Twins with Pablo Lopez on the mound. We beg to differ, however, with Minnesota losing four of his last five starts, and Lopez really struggling across his last four outings with an ERA north of 9. Austin Gomber has had a bit of choppy ride his last two starts for the Rocks, too, but he's not far removed from a spectacular May in which he posted an 0.68 ERA. Colorado looking at a rare series win on the road after Cal Quantrill fired six innings of bullets (no runs and three hits) last night. Play Rockies on Run Line

It's been an interesting start to the season for Pablo Lopez whose raw numbers are down compared to last year, but if we look at his underlying metrics they would indicate he's been quite unlucky and his strikeout numbers are still quite strong. Lopez combines a healthy 12.9% SwStr% with the lowest Z-Contact% of his career and gets a fantastic matchup against a Colorado lineup that possess the 4th highest K Rate against opposing right handed pitching. Additionally, the Rockies have been lifeless hitting outside of Colorado. If you've been following my plays this season you'd know I rarely like to back pitchers with this high of a K line, however this is a rare exception that checks all the boxes.
