Expert Picks
Both of these teams have been awful lately: the Pirates are 1-7 in their last eight games, and the Reds are 2-6 in theirs. Bryse Wilson pitched last month in Cincinnati, resulting in a 5-1 Reds victory. Granted, Wilson's 7.50 home ERA is inflated from a couple terrible starts, but he also hasn't shown to improve when facing an opponent for the second, or even third, time. Graham Ashcraft hasn't been the most consistent pitcher, but the Reds are still 10-5 on the money line in his starts. Both bullpens are ranked in the bottom three, but the Reds did have a day off yesterday. In the last month, the Pirates' offense is ranked second to last with a 0.613 OPS, while the Reds have an OPS of 0.681. At -115, I'll take this slightly better team Reds team.
