The Mariners have won two straight in Oakland and they have the better end of the pitching matchup in this one where we get to grab them as an underdog. A's starter Cole Irvin has allowed at least three runs in six of his last seven starts and has a 5.82 ERA in that stretch. He's allowed opposing hitters to slash .338/.381/.547 in those seven starts. Mariners starter Chris Flexen had a bad outing two starts ago, but got back on track last time out. The last two times he saw the A's, he only allowed three runs in 12 innings combined. Overall, the A's haven't been good for a while, having gone 15-21 since Aug. 12. The Mariners are more reliable now.
