Taijuan Walker has allowed just four earned runs in 17 IP since returning from the IL and he has had walking problems although they have been kept in check lately. He is 3-0 with a 1.23 ERA in five home starts this season. Alec Mills will be making his second start of the season and he has allowed runs in five straight outings despite being used as a reliever in all those outings. The Cubs are 14-18 on the road this season while the Mets are 18-6 at home.

Taijuan Walker has been one of the top offseason additions based on performance for the 2021 season. Over his last four home starts, he has allowed just one run in 19innings. The Chicago Cubs should be able to change that as they gave Walker his worst outing of the season at home on April 20. Issues with his command led to six walks and an early exit after 3.2 innings. The Mets are 10-1 in their past 11 as home favorites and appear to have the clear starting pitching edge here in Taijuan Walker (5-2, 2.07) over Cubs journeyman Alec Mills (2-0, 6.08). Walker has a 1.32 ERA over his past six outings and his 0.30 HR/9 rate in 2021 is the best in the majors. This will be Mills' 14th appearance of the year but just second start so he probably won't be out there long. The Cubs are 5-12 in their past 17 as road dogs.
