This game could be weather-delayed but should be played. I'll take a shot on the Under simply as the Phillies are without second baseman Jean Segura, shortstop Didi Gregorius and All-Star catcher JT Realmuto in Wednesday's lineup. After the top three in the Wednesday order, it's incredibly weak. Giants starting pitcher Anthony DeSclafani (1-0, 1.06) has been terrific in the early going. Phillies pitcher Zach Eflin (1-0, 3.15 ERA) also has been good, and the Giants are resting Brandon Belt and Evan Longoria. Wish I had gotten this when it was at 8.5.
The Giants are one of the worst hitting teams in baseball right now and have gone Over in only five of their 17 games. The Phillies are not much better in run production and, even after last night's offensive showing, both clubs are below average at the plate. Wednesday’s pitching matchup features two solid starters in San Francisco's Anthony DeSclafani and Philadelphia's Zach Eflin, who both should be able to handle these hitters and keep the total below eight. There are also storm-like wind conditions expected in Philadelphia, which is the icing on the cake for me here. I will be playing the Under.
