Brandon Woodruff hasn't been too sharp the last couple times out, but the Brewers still have won his last eight starts. Milwaukee is a good value as a road dog tonight.

I'm quite fond of the value that can be had on the Brewers at this price. Brandon Woodruff isn't Justin Verlander, but he's pitched well this season, and he's backed by the hottest offense in baseball as of late. As for the Astros, as good as Verlander is, Houston's offense has been rather ordinary over the last week, so I don't think it's crazy to imagine the Brewers picking up a win tonight.

The Brewers don't lose often behind Brandon Woodruff. They've won eight straight behind him and 11 of his 13 starts, but he looked a bit shaky in his last two starts -- both against Pittsburgh. The Bucs roughed him up a bit for nine runs. Houston has won nine of its last 11 and they've won 11 of Justin Verlander's 14 starts. I'm on the Astros.

The marquee matchup of the night features Justin Verlander who is 9-2 with a 2.31 ERA this season and Brandon Woodruff who is 8-1 with a 3.87 ERA. Verlander is 34-7 with a 2.73 ERA in 48 career interleague starts and 2-0 with a 1.08 ERA against the Brewers in his career, while Woodruff has never faced the Astros. Woodruff is 2-1 with a 4.03 ERA on the road and has been struggling with the long ball lately. Verlander is 3-1 with a 1.75 ERA at home and has thrown a quality start in 12 of 14 games this year.
