The Dodgers Hyun-Jin Ryu is the hottest pitcher in baseball. Chicago's Lucas Giolito is giving him a run, however I'll give the nod to Ryu for his consistency the entire year. Ryu has 12 starts and has not allowed more than 2 runs in any one game. He has not allowed a single run in five of his last six starts! This is not a new found effectiveness for Ryu, in 15 starts last year he had an ERA of 1.97. Therefore, over his last 27 starts his ERA is 1.66. For the entire season, I have Ryu 90 cents better than the average pitcher but his last six starts he has been $1.40 above average. Canning Griffin has been very good for the Angels pitching at 25 cents above average, however this is the best line up by far he has faced. The Dodgers should be -230.

Hyun-Jin Ryu is 9-1 with a 1.35 ERA this season while Griffin Canning is 2-2 with a 3.52 ERA. Ryu has made three career starts against the Angels and is 2-0 with a .83 ERA. The Dodgers are 20-14 on the road and 9-3 in games Ryu starts. The Angels are 17-18 at home and 4-3 when Canning starts.

Griffin Canning has kept six of his seven starts Under the total, but he tied a season-high allowing four runs in his last start. That was after three outstanding starts where he allowed two runs combined. However, Hyun-Jin Ryu is on another planet and is priced 20 cents too cheap tonight. He hasn't allowed more than two runs in any start this season and has allowed no runs in five of his last six starts. The Dodgers are the top play.

The Dodgers have the clear advantage on the mound, and my projections see this as a blowout. The blue-and-white win more than 70 percent of computer simulations and by an average of two runs, which is a lot given how many simulations were run. The value is there with the Dodgers.
