Angels starter Matt Shoemaker is coming off a great start but has been shaky for much of the year. White Sox starter Miguel Gonzalez is coming off a poor start but has been largely solid this year. Outside of Mike Trout, the Angels' lineup isn't dangerous at all, with Martin Maldanado's .722 OPS ranking second among Wednesday's starters. While the White Sox haven't won many games of late, they have a much better chance at getting a win here than their betting line suggests. I'm calling this a toss-up and hoping the value play pays off.

The Los Angeles starter is coming off six scoreless innings against Detroit, but yielded three or more earned runs in half of his prior six outings.

The projection model tells me the White Sox will cover the run line about 70 percent of the time in their Wednesday matchup with the Angels, giving us a solid value spot with a price of -150. The White Sox are on a 5-2 run against AL West opponents, while the Angels are 2-8 in starts by Matt Shoemaker in Game 3 of a series.
