There are so many things that go into identifying strong plays at wide receiver on a weekly basis for NFL DFS. Examining game scripts, projecting volume, and weighing the matchup are some of the most common factors, but that is just the beginning. Breaking down a matchup on a macro level often isn't enough. In DFS, being able to identify when a receiver is in a particularly advantageous matchup can make the difference in taking down tournaments or going home with nothing.

In 2018, few were better at identifying advantageous matchups for receivers than DFS pro Jacob Gibbs. His WR draft rankings finished 22nd among 154 analysts in FantasyPros' Expert Accuracy Contest, while his in-season WR rankings were 23rd of 125. Through the first eight weeks of the 2018 season, no expert ranked the WR position more accurately than Gibbs did.

In Week 1, Gibbs nailed John Brown as his overlooked mismatch. Brown put up 28.3 DK points at under five percent ownership in tournaments on DraftKings.
