Social media has skyrocketed in use during the coronavirus pandemic, with fans from around the world forced online more and more to find out the latest news about their favorite teams. On Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, hashtags are used as search tools to narrow your focus to just the team you want to know more about.

Fans of the New York Yankees, for example, would search #NYYforNY for the latest news, information and fellow fan posts about the Bronx Bombers. Same with #GoPats for New England Patriots fans, and #LakeShow for Los Angeles Lakers die-hards.
