It wasn't easy, but the Los Angeles Chargers clawed out a Week 1 victory over the Indianapolis Colts to begin the 2019 NFL season in positive fashion. However, the Chargers are dealing with myriad injury issues and things only got worse after the opener, with additional uncertainty within their corps of pass-catching options. The Chargers announced that tight end Hunter Henry suffered a tibia plateau fracture in his left knee and ESPN's Adam Schefter indicates that the timetable for his return is 4-to-6 weeks.

"He's taking it tough, but he's doing fine," head coach Anthony Lynn told ESPN. "He wants to be here with his teammates. He wants to play. And not being out there with them, he feels like he's letting them down. But he's not. You can't control these things. You can only control what you can control.

Henry missed the 2018 regular season with a torn ACL and, while he is dynamic when healthy, the Chargers have experience in operating without the talented tight end. However, former first round pick Mike Williams is also battling injury concerns, with ESPN's Josina Anderson reporting that the gifted wide receiver is "week to week" and could miss the team's Week 2 face-off with the Detroit Lions.

The Chargers enter their second contest of the season as 2.5-point road favorites, with the market showing confidence in Philip Rivers, Austin Ekeler and company. Still, there are questions about just how explosive Los Angeles will be offensively with Henry on the shelf and Melvin Gordon's holdout continuing, leaving additional pressure on Keenan Allen in the event that Williams cannot return by Sunday.
