NFL Week 15 picks: Raiders top Patriots, and more against the spread best bets from Las Vegas SuperContest expert

R.J. White shares his five SuperContest picks after hitting on close to 57% of his contest plays over the last seven years.

Kyler Murray's injury ruined what could've been a 5-0 week for our Circa Million picks, though our SuperContest picks didn't fare as well. I've been at 50% or slightly better in both contests this year and headed for my worst performance in the SuperContest in several years. My entire slate of picks at SportsLine has been much better, as I'm sitting above 55% on all picks heading into the weekend. That's not going to get anywhere near cashing in the contest either, but at least it indicates it's been more bad luck than anything in terms of which games are getting on the card.

My 4-1 Circa Million showing does put me in the running to compete in the minicontest over the final four weeks if I can keep picking winners, so let's get five more on the card this week.

I've been SportsLine's No. 1 NFL ATS expert over the last five years, going 445-378-24 against the spread to put me up more than 25 units on those picks at SportsLine. I've also delivered a 56.8% hit rate on my SuperContest picks over the last seven seasons, which is exactly what you're getting below. And that run includes two finishes in the money, including finishing 18th out of 2,748 entries back in 2017.

If you're a SportsLine subscriber, you can get all my picks, which in a typical NFL week number can near double digits, at the same time as I make them by downloading the app and signing up for alerts on my expert page. That's crucial, as you might not have access to the same lines from the Las Vegas contests, which don't move after they're posted mid-week. This week, I'm backing a team that got embarrassed once again last week: the Las Vegas Raiders +1 vs. the New England Patriots.

The Raiders looked en route to their fourth straight win when they went up 16-3 against the Rams in the fourth quarter on Thursday night in Week 14. The Rams responded with a nine-minute touchdown drive, and then somehow went 98 yards for the winning TD with less than two minutes remaining. In that situation, you could see a team that's not making the playoffs quitting, but this is a massive matchup with a head coach that isn't on the hot seat going up against his old boss, and that should have the players motivated to respond with maximum effort here. They'll also have a huge rest advantage with the Patriots playing on Monday.

Even with Kyler Murray getting hurt on his first drive, the Patriots still found themselves 13-7 with the Cardinals in field goal range near the end of the first half. But Kliff Kingsbury decided he wanted to kick a shorter field goal and went for it on fourth-and-1, failing to get the first down. The Patriots went down to kick their own field goal, and the Cardinals offense seemed to check out in the second half. Basically, I'm still not confident the Patriots are that good. Maybe they'll benefit again from poor coaching decisions on the other side of the field here, but as long as Josh McDaniels can get out of his own way, the Raiders have a good shot at winning this game.
