NFL Week 14 picks: Saints end skid, and more best bets against the spread from Las Vegas SuperContest expert

R.J. White shares his five picks for the Westgate SuperContest after hitting on more than 57 percent of his plays in the competition over the last six years.

We went 3-2 in both contests last week, though the Broncos loss still feels like the right side despite being done in by a pick-six and muffed punt. Even the Bears pick doesn't seem too bad considering they failed to cover by just 3.5 points and gifted the Cardinals two short fields on TD drives to start the game. Both those teams' games will be involved in this week's contest picks, but which side looks like the better play? And do I love the pick enough to put it on both cards?

I've been SportsLine's No. 1 NFL expert over the last four years, going 354-292-22 against the spread in particular during that stretch. I've also delivered a 57.1 percent hit rate on my SuperContest picks over the last six seasons, which is exactly what you're getting below. And that run includes two finishes in the money, including finishing 18th out of 2,748 entries back in 2017.

If you're a SportsLine subscriber, you can get all my picks, which in a typical NFL week number in the double digits, at the same time as I make them by downloading the app and signing up for alerts on my expert page. That's crucial, as you might not have access to the same lines from the Las Vegas contests, which don't move after they're posted mid-week. This week, I'm shaking off a quarterback injury again against the same terrible defense after it worked so well last week for one of my top picks: the New Orleans Saints -6 at the New York Jets.

Taysom Hill is dealing with a finger injury that may limit his effectiveness as a passer. But so what? He had 101 yards rushing last week while dealing with the injury, and he should be able to run around and through the Jets defense in this plus matchup. The Saints offense will also have Alvin Kamara back, marking the first time the Saints' best player has been on the field since Week 9. It's no coincidence the Saints have lost four straight without the dynamic running back. Left tackle Terron Armstead is also good to go, though the team is still missing right tackle Ryan Ramczyk. But will that be enough for the Jets to find rare defensive success? I doubt it.

On the other side of the ball, the Jets offense is without Corey Davis for the rest of the year and could also be missing excellent rookie receiver Elijah Moore, who's listed as questionable despite not practicing at all this week. If he doesn't play, Zach Wilson will be tasked with figuring out how to move the ball against a solid Saints defense with a stable of weapons that features Jamison Crowder, Braxton Berrios, Keelan Cole and Ty Johnson. Good luck with that.

Even with the Saints' key absences, there's a reason this team is favored on the road by this many points despite losing their last five games. The Jets are terrible. Let's keep fading them.
