MLB parlay picks for July 3: SportsLine expert offers his picks, predictions for Thursday's games
Eric Cohen offers a four-leg MLB Same Game Parlay Plus for the games on Thursday, July 3rd
So much for the trends helping my picks from yesterday. Jacob Misiorowski dominated the first three teams he saw but I guess the Mets were avoiding a doubleheader sweep at home. He didn't fare too well after the first inning on Wednesday, nor did Milwaukee. And Gunnar Henderson who was 7-of-8 lifetime vs. Nathan Eovaldi went 1-for-4 with three strikeouts. Betting can be a funny game sometimes. But at least it's Thursday and I can sweat golf bets again this weekend to take my mind off the poor run these parlays have been on of late. Can we get back on track in time for Independence Day tomorrow?
Thursday, July 3rd MLB SGPx
- David Peterson 2+ Earned Runs Allowed + Jackson Chourio 2+ H+R+RBI (+116)
- Giants ML + Robbie Ray 6+ Strikeouts (+152)
- SGPx odds: +444 (odds subject to change)
David Peterson 2+ Earned Runs Allowed + Jackson Chourio 2+ H+R+RBI
Peterson started out the season like an All-Star candidate before fading terribly in June. He surrendered three or more runs in 4 of 5 starts last month, with the exception being a complete game shutout over the Nationals on June 11th. Against a potent Milwaukee lineup, I think they can get to him for at least a couple tallies tonight. Jackson Chourio is the definition of boom-or-bust but I like his chances against the lefty Peterson. When the 21-year old star gets a hit, he generally adds a second H+R+RBI based on recent trends. He's done this in 10 of his last 12 games with a hit including seven straight. It's kind of a strange stat that I came up with but let's go with it.
