Unless you've got a roster stacked with high-end pitchers you'll start against any matchup, you'll probably need to keep a close eye on the schedule as you get ready to set your lineup for the upcoming week. You'll need to know which of your starters have bad matchups, which are set for two starts in the upcoming week, and which fringe-y options might just be worth going out to grab on waivers.

Which is why you'll definitely want to check out SportsLine's weekly pitching Start 'Em & Sit 'Em chart from William Dubiel. A 15-year Fantasy veteran, Dubiel got his start in Fantasy baseball and has done work for Rotoballer, Metro US and multiple other outlets during his career. He was named the No. 4 MLB Ranker for the 2017 MLB season, so if there's anybody who can give you an edge in your Fantasy baseball league, it's him.

Now, he's helping you set your pitching lineup each week. William goes through every starting pitcher matchup for the upcoming week, making start and sit picks for each game. Here are some of William's calls for Week 24:

    • The Indians have made a habit of producing quality starting pitching in recent years, and Aaron Civale appears to be the latest in that line. Civale has been absolutely lights-out in August, pitching to a 2.35 ERA across 30.2 innings. Oddly enough that's produced just a 1-3 record, but that's certainly of little importance moving forward. Civale has just struck out just 24 hitters in August, but that doesn't really matter either, given how elite his control has been. Civale has walked just three batters and allowed one home run in those 30+ innings, and that's a large enough sample size for me to believe it's sustainable for at least another month. He gets a nice home matchup against the White Sox before tangling with the Twins later in the week, and I like him a lot as a two-start option and an immediate waiver wire add.
    • Tim Melville has a much shorter track record, but he does have some decent numbers through two starts. The 29-year-old rookie has sniffed the majors only twice in his career before his two starts in August, and the Rockies are actually his seventh organization. He's hovered around in AAA for a few seasons now, and his long-term prospects are probably not great. Melville has a 1-0 record through 12 innings, and a nice 0.75 ERA to go along with his mediocre 10:5 strikeout-to-walk ratio. He's coming off five shutout innings against the potent Braves lineup in Coors, and this week he'll draw the Padres on the road. I like him as a streaming option in that spot, and he may be worth holding on to for the last month of the season.
    • Mitch Keller's season-long numbers are ghastly, this we know. He just got slapped around by the Phillies for 11 hits and eight earned runs across four innings of work, but he also struck out eight. That makes 17 strikeouts in his last 10 innings, and therein lies Keller's potential. He's had above-average strikeout numbers at just about every stop in the minors, and while he certainly isn't ready to be an everyday rotation member, he's got a juicy opportunity this week in a home matchup against the lowly Marlins. They're top 12 in the MLB in strikeouts and dead last in OPS — this is one outing that Keller owners should come away from smiling. Don't let the abysmal season ERA fool you.
