Knowing the top prospects can give you a huge edge in Fantasy baseball dynasty leagues for years to come. And if you're looking for the next big star, be sure to check out what Scott White has to say.
White has spent over a decade as CBS Sports' Fantasy baseball analyst and has been named the FSWA Baseball Writer of the Year, and was the 2017 runner-up in the famous Tout Wars league -- the most prestigious league for Fantasy baseball experts from around the country.
Now he's studied the upcoming crop of prospects and has identified the top 10 Fantasy baseball shortstops you need to know about heading into the 2019 MLB season. One prospect who made White's list of top-10 shortstops: Kevin Smith of the Blue Jays.
"Smith is one of those hard-nosed types who tends to wring the absolute most out of his ability, and that was certainly the case in 2018, when he put in extra time shortening his swing in the offseason and wound up adding power while also cutting his strikeouts," White told SportsLine. He's smart about stealing bases, too, succeeding at a high enough rate that he may be able to carry that skill to the majors."
White also has identified a young shortstop close to a call-up "known for his explosive, high-torque swing." This is a player who can pay dividends for years to come for Fantasy players.
