Identifying deep sleepers can make all the difference in Fantasy because they provide huge return at virtually no cost. In fact, drafting a pitcher whom others slept on can change your entire team's outlook.
That's why your Fantasy baseball draft prep isn't complete until you see Fantasy analyst Jeff Zimmerman's top sleeper pitchers to target late in drafts.
Zimmerman has written at FanGraphs, Hardball Times, RotoWire, ESPN, Baseball America, and Beyond the Boxscore. He has won several FSTA awards including Best Baseball Series and Football Writer of the Year. He's participated in Tout Wars and won it twice (15-mixed auction and 12-team H2H). Along with Tanner Bell, he just published the first edition of "The Process", a complete guide for running your own fantasy baseball start-to-finish.
Now he's studied the upcoming MLB season and has identified the top sleeper pitchers you need to know heading into your drafts. One deep sleeper who made Zimmerman's list: Dodgers SP Ross Stripling (202 ADP).
"With Clayton Kershaw struggling to start throwing this season, the Dodgers are going to need a starter to fill-in," Zimmerman said. "Stripling has seen his major league stats improve each season. Most of the improvement is from his secondary pitches. Last season, both his change and curveball had a 15.5% SwStr%. Additionally, he has some hidden good batted ball results. His 45% GB% seems pedestrian, but when the individual pitches get broken out, they produce batted balls at the extremes."
Zimmerman has also identified a pitcher you're not thinking about who will be available at the end of drafts, but has MAJOR upside. You ABSOLUTELY need to see who it is before you draft.
