Golf's fourth major, the PGA Championship, tees off on August 9 at Bellerive Golf Course in St. Louis. SportsLine's golf prediction model simulated this huge event 10,000 times to come up with a surprising leaderboard.
This proprietary golf projection model, built by predictive data engineer and DFS pro Mike McClure, has called four of the last seven majors heading into the weekend, including Patrick Reed's career-defining victory at the 2018 Masters.
McClure was also high on Tiger Woods before his stunning run at the 2018 British Open, saying it was the major he had the best chance to contend in this year. Woods hadn't finished top 10 in a major since 2013, but he held the outright lead at the British Open at one point and finished with an impressive sixth-place finish.
One thing we'll give away for the 2018 PGA Championship: Woods, who is going off at 25-1, makes another strong run at the title but ultimately falls short. Another big surprise: Brooks Koepka, the back-to-back U.S. Open winner and one of the Vegas favorites, stumbles big-time and finishes well outside the top 10. There are far better values in this year's PGA Championship field.
The model has also identified three other long shots with odds of 25-1 or longer who make a strong run at the title. Anybody who bets on these long shots could hit it BIG... Join SportsLine here to see the full projected leaderboard for the PGA Championship, and see which long shots shock the world, all from the model that's called four of the last seven majors heading into the weekend.
