The European Tour rolls on this week with a stop at the NBO Oman Open. We simulated this event 10,000 times and came up with a surprising leaderboard.
Our proprietary computer model was all over the majors last year, and is off to a hot start again this year. Last week, it had two golfers who finished tied for second in the Pebble Beach Pro-Am in its projected top five, and the week before it nailed 40-to-1 long shot Matt Kuchar's surprising run to the top five in the Waste Management Phoenix Open.
One huge surprise the model is calling for the NBO Oman Open this year: Jorge Campillo, who Vegas views as a long shot, finishes in the top five and makes a serious run for the title. He's a strong value at 33/1 that you should jump all over.
Another curveball: Shubhankar Sharma, who has the second best odds according to Vegas at 18/1, finishes outside of the top six. He's somebody to avoid this weekend.
The model is also calling for multiple underdogs with odds of 40/1 or longer to make a serious run at the title. So who should you back in the NBO Oman Open and what big underdogs shock the European Tour this week?... Join SportsLine here to see who you can bank on to win the NBO Oman Open and see which long shots make a run at the title, all from the model off to a blistering start this season and that nailed three majors heading into the weekend in 2017.
