Oklahoma running back Joe Mixon is one of the most controversial players in the 2017 NFL Draft.
He was suspended for the entire 2014 season for a domestic violence incident, a video of which was released last year.
He has a ton of talent as evidenced by his 2,000-plus rushing yards the last two seasons, his 26 career total touchdowns, and his 6.8 yards-per-carry average last year.
CBS SPORTS: PATS, DOLPHINS REMOVE MIXON FROM DRAFT BOARD
But how much will his past affect his draft stock?
"I thought Joe was a nice young man," Broncos coach Vance Joseph was quoted by MLive as saying. "Obviously he had an issue three or four years ago, but he's owned it? We brought him in, we talked to him for a day. He's owned it, he's been remorseful for his mistake and he's a nice young man."
Mixon has been linked to the Los Angeles Chargers. Head coach Anthony Lynn called him "one of the best backs in the draft."
Mixon ran a mid-4.43 forty at Oklahoma's pro day. He was not invited to the NFL Combine.
"Mixon was outstanding during the positional drills, especially as a pass-catcher," CBS Sports' Dane Brugler said. "He showed off fluid strides, soft hands, and smooth body control to catch-and-run in one motion, displaying why some feel his receiving talent is his best asset."
Despite his clear talent, Mixon may not hear his named called on draft day.
"Joe Mixon might be a first-round talent, but there's no guarantee he'll even be drafted," CBS Sports' Ryan Wilson said, noting that the Patriots and Dolphins have removed Mixon from their draft boards.
According to BookMaker.eu, Mixon is +130 to hear his name called during the first round of the NFL Draft, meaning you'd have to bet $100 to win $130.
