The Green Bay Packers shocked the Dallas Cowboys in improbable fashion to reach the NFC Championship game, where they'll face the Atlanta Falcons.
The line opened as Atlanta -4 at the Westgate SuperBook, but was quickly bet up to 5.5.
More historic is the total, which stands at a whopping 60.5 at BookMaker.eu. It's the highest Over/Under ever for a conference championship game or Super Bowl. It opened at 59.5.
"We expect to see steady Packers money from the betting public, but it will be interesting to see which side the professional gamblers are on," BookMaker spokesman Scott Cooley said. "They absolutely hammered the Falcons against Seattle, so we may see some more of that. As far as the total, we have two high-powered offenses and a couple of suspect defenses. The squares won't think twice about wagering on the Over."
The New England-Denver total during the 2013-14 playoffs closed at 57. In Week 13 of the 2014-15 regular season, BookMaker posted a total of 61 in a game between the Packers and Patriots.
The Falcons beat the Packers in the Georgia Dome in late October, 33-32. The 65 points easily eclipsed the closing total of 51. Aaron Rodgers and Matt Ryan combined for seven touchdowns.
Every single Falcons' home game has gone Over this year.
