Now bettors are being forced to lay a full touchdown if they want to back Seattle in an obvious bounceback spot in primetime at CenturyLink Field.

The Seahawks are coming off an embarrassing loss at Tampa Bay in which the offense mustered only a field goal.

They also are playing with revenge after losing 31-24 in last year's divisional playoffs at Carolina. Seattle can end the Panthers' season, as Carolina is 4-7 following last week's devastating three-point loss at Oakland.

Seattle should get safety Earl Thomas back from a hamstring injury, with defensive end Michael Bennett (knee) also looking likely to play.

Carolina isn't so fortunate on the injury front. Do-it-all linebacker Luke Kuechly (concussion) and safety Kurt Coleman (concussion) might sit out, and center Ryan Kalil is headed for shoulder surgery.

That means Cam Newton will need a heroic performance against the league's No. 1 scoring defense (17.0).

LINE MOVEMENT

BookMaker.eu opened at Seattle -6.5 and is currently dealing -7.

"We've gone back and forth between -6.5 and -7," BookMaker odds consultant Scott Cooley told SportsLine. "It seems when we hit the key number, some smart bettors take the dog, and then when we drop, guys hit Seattle. The injuries are mounting for Carolina and I think this will close at a touchdown."

The total has dipped by a full point to 44 from an open of 45. The Panthers money line was +275 on Saturday afternoon.

TRENDS

The Seahawks are 20-8 in their last 28 games following a straight-up loss and 10-1 ATS in their last 11 Week 13 games.

The Under is 12-2 in Seattle's last 14 December games.

Carolina is 1-7-1 ATS in its past nine road games and 0-5 ATS in its last five games on Fieldturf.

The Over is 12-3 in the Panthers' last 15 games vs. winning teams.
