Top-10 opponents face off when the fifth-ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish battle the No. 9 Oklahoma State Cowboys in the Fiesta Bowl on New Year's Day. The Cowboys (11-2) won the Big 12 Conference regular-season title at 8-1, while the Fighting Irish (11-1) have won seven in a row. This will be the first meeting between the teams. Kickoff from State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., is set for 1 p.m. ET.

The latest Oklahoma State vs. Notre Dame odds from Caesars Sportsbook list the Irish as one-point favorites, while the over-under for total points scored is 45.5. (See the latest college football lines for all of this week's games on our college football odds page.)

Before making any Oklahoma State vs. Notre Dame picks or college football predictions, you need to see what the SportsLine Projection Model has to say.

The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every FBS college football game 10,000 times. Over the past five-plus years, the proprietary computer model has generated a stunning profit of almost $3,600 for $100 players on its top-rated college football picks against the spread. It also entered the third week of the 2021-22 college football bowl season on a 43-30 run on all top-rated college football side picks. Anyone who has followed it has seen HUGE returns.

The model knows graduate senior quarterback Jack Coan leads the Fighting Irish offense, and finished the regular season completing 67.8 percent of his passes. He completed 215 of 317 attempts for 2,641 yards and 20 touchdowns. He was intercepted six times and had a rating of 154.8. He has also rushed for a pair of scores. Coan is coming off a huge game in a win at Stanford on Nov. 27. In that game, he completed 26 of 35 passes (74.3 percent) for 345 yards and two touchdowns.

The model also knows the Cowboys have an explosive offense led by redshirt junior quarterback Spencer Sanders. Sanders became the second first-team all-conference QB in school history, joining Brandon Weeden in 2010, and is one of three Oklahoma State players with more than 4,000 passing yards and 1,000 rushing yards in his career. For the year, Sanders has completed 209 of 340 passes (61.5 percent) for 2,468 yards and 16 touchdowns. He has been intercepted 12 times and has a rating of 130.9. He has also carried 129 times for 543 yards (4.2 average) and six touchdowns.

Now the model has simulated Oklahoma State vs. Notre Dame 10,000 times, and the results are in. We can tell you that the model is leaning Under on the total, and it also says one side of the spread hits well over 50 percent of the time. You ABSOLUTELY need to see it before locking in your own picks.
