Today's picks: Genesis Invitational selections and more expert bets for Wednesday, February 17

Coming off a big Monday, Jonathan Coachman is joined by top sports betting experts Mike McClure, Rick Gehman and Larry Hartstein on the Early Edge podcast, powered by SportsLine. They share featured bets for the Genesis Invitational, NBA, NHL  and college basketball for Wednesday, Feb. 17. 

Mike opens the storylines of the day with his NBA injury report, focusing on the short-handed Denver Nuggets along with the Clippers, Pelicans and Thunder. Rick begins his comprehensive analysis of major points for the Genesis Invitational, highlighting how the field is full of star power. He says there are 12-15 guys that have a legitimate shot to win, at some of the longest odds we have ever seen.

The Coach tosses out the SportsLine Play of the Day, with the Oilers -135 over the Jets at 10 p.m. ET.  

The NBA talk continues, as Mike is on the Pistons -4.5 over the Bulls at 8 p.m. ET and the Pacers -5.5 over the Timberwolves at 8 p.m. ET. He is taking the Warriors -1 over the Heat at 10 p.m. ET, as Mike believes Miami cannot keep pace with the Golden State offense. At the Genesis Open, he is going with Viktor Hovland +350 to finish in the Top 10. 

Rick picks up with more in-depth breakdowns of his favorite Genesis Open selections. He is taking Adam Scott +100 over Hideki Matsuyama. He then talks about why he is riding with Xander Schauffele at +150 to finish in the Top 10. 

"Xander Schauffele is arguably the most complete player on the PGA Tour right now," he says. "He has no flaws in his game. He has six Top 5 finishes in his last eight starts." Rick says Schauffele is primed and ready to shine, coming off two runner-up finishes. "I know he is chomping at the bit to stop that streak," Rick is also taking Collin Morikawa to win at +3,300. 

A red-hot Larry moves to college basketball, taking Sacred Heart -1 over Central Connecticut State at 5 p.m. ET. Pointing out that USC has won six straight games and has covered in five straight, he is on the Trojans -10 over Arizona State at 8 p.m. ET. Much to the delight of the Coach, he goes back to Drake at -6 over Northern Iowa at 8 p.m. ET.
