Host Jonathan Coachman is joined by Mike McClure and Calvin Wetzel on the Early Edge podcast, powered by SportsLine. Get highlighted plays for MLB, WNBA and soccer for Thursday, July 14, and you can stream the show live every morning on the SportsLine YouTube page.

Coachman starts off by recapping an excellent day for the crew, as it went 6-2 on the morning Early Edge show and 8-4 overall on Wednesday. The host then offers up the SportsLine Play of the Day, which is from the Concacaf Women's Championship soccer tournament. Soccer expert Brandt Sutton is backing Canada -1.5 (-130) against Jamaica (10 p.m. ET).

Mike has an MLB pick, taking the Braves Over the Team Total of 5.5 runs (-110) against the Nationals (7:05 p.m. ET). "Anibal Sanchez, 38 years old, is making his season debut for the Washington Nationals," McClure says. "He has not pitched since 2020. ... This is likely to become a big bullpen game for the Nationals. They are one of the worst bullpens in Major League Baseball."

Calvin offers up two WNBA picks, and he is backing the Chicago Sky -4.5 (-115) against the Los Angeles Sparks (10:30 p.m. ET). Wetzel loves what Candace Parker has been doing for Chicago and is backing her as a player to watch for MVP at +2000 or longer odds. This line is the same as it was the last time these teams played, and the Sky won that one by 23 points.

Wetzel also likes Under 87.5 in the First Half (-110) on the Las Vegas Aces vs. New York Liberty game (11 a.m. ET). "There's some strong trends in these day games, over the past several years, for there to be slow starts" Calvin says. The Sun vs. Fever matchup Wednesday saw 69 points scored in the first half, but the game finished at 170.

Coach wraps up the show with two MLB picks after he went 3-0 on Wednesday to give him an outstanding 39-14-1 recent run on Cash With the Coach. His first play is the Rays -130 against the Red Sox (7:10 p.m. ET). He says the pitching matchups made it appear unlikely that Tampa Bay would win three straight, but it did, and he likes the Rays' momentum to carry them to the sweep.

Jonathan also is taking Over 7.5 runs (-105) in the Mets vs. Cubs game (8:05 p.m. ET). The oitchers are tired entering the All-Star break, and Coach sees a lot of runs being scored in this matchup tonight.
