Allan Bell is joined by Mike McClure, John Bollman and Micah Roberts on the Early Edge podcast, powered by SportsLine. Get highlighted plays for the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs, MLB and MMA for Saturday, May 14, and you can stream the show live every morning on the SportsLine YouTube page.

After delving into the trends and a discussing the baseballs and umpiring in MLB, Allan offers up two SportsLine Plays of the Day. Both are on NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs Game 7's, and both site plays are on the home teams. The first is on the Bruins vs. Hurricanes matchup at 4:30 p.m. ET. Carolina has won 72 percent of its games straight-up at home and 66 percent against Boston, so the SportsLine model is backing the Hurricanes -135. Carolina is winning in 62 percent of the model's simulations.

In the Lightning vs. Maple Leafs game at 7 p.m. ET, the site is backing Toronto -125 on the money line. The Leafs have won 75 percent of their home games, and Tampa Bay has won just a third of its games straight-up as a road underdog. The model has Toronto winning 56 percent of the time.

Andrew Gombas joins the show on video to offer up some MMA picks after a clean sweep last week at UFC 274. He has three money-line picks on UFC Fight Night. Gombas is backing Aleksandar Rakic -190 over Jan Blachowicz in the main event. Blachowicz is "past his prime" at age 39, Andrew says, and the MMA expert says Rakic has all the advantages to win.

Andrew also is taking Virna Jandiroba -180 over Angela Hill in a women's strawweight preliminary bout. Going back to the main card for his final pick, Gombas is backing Katlyn Chookagian -175 over Amanda Ribas, who is moving up for the flyweight bout and is likely to be overpowered.

McClure jumps in with an MLB pick, and he is sticking with the Yankees, taking them to go Over 4.5 runs (-120) against the White Sox (7:10 p.m. ET). "I love this spot for them," Mike says. Chicago starter Dallas Keuchel has been allowing a lot of base-runners, and "overall, pretty decent hitting environment today in Chicago." Mike expects New York to keep rolling.

Micah has two MLB picks, and he loves his streaks. He is backing Houston -160 to beat the Nationals (7:05 p.m. ET) and for the game total to go Under nine runs (-120). The Astros have won 11 in a row, and he expects them to stay hot. "Cristian Javier has been good in his two starts," Roberts says, "The Under streak has been unbelievable, as well." The total has stayed under in nine of Houston's 11 consecutive wins.

Bollman is backing the Rockies -150 against the Royals (8:10 p.m. ET) despite losing his play on Colorado on Friday. That game was an anomaly, he says, with Kansas City getting six unearned runs. "The Royals bullpen is in even more worked now," John says. "I like the Rockies at home to force a rubber game."
