Jonathan Coachman is joined by top sports betting experts Larry Hartstein, Mike McClure and Jon (Buckets) Eimer on the Early Edge podcast, powered by SportsLine. Get highlighted plays for the MLB, soccer and tennis for Wednesday, Aug. 3, and you can stream the show live every morning on the SportsLine YouTube page.
Coach starts things off with the SportsLine play of the day: Both Teams To Score: Yes (-125) in the MLS match between Charlotte FC and DC United (7 p.m. ET). "Both of these teams have a negative goal differential," he says. "Translation: They allow a lot of goals."
McClure has one play, from tennis: Holger Rune (-110) to beat Benoit Paire in straight sets in the ATP Citi Open (12 p.m. ET). "I think [Paire] is truly coming to an end to his career at this point," he says. He adds, "He's only won four matches so far this season."
Coach has two Cash With Coach plays. The first is Over 7.5 runs (-110) in the Braves-Phillies game (12:20 p.m. ET). "[Braves starter Charlie Morton] has allowed 11 runs in 15 innings [this season against Philadelphia]," he says.
His other play is Over 8 runs (+100) in the Rangers-Orioles game (2:05 p.m. ET).
Eimer has three soccer plays. The first is Maccabi Haifa Team Total to go Over 1.5 goals (-130) against Apollon (1 p.m. ET). "Maccabi just shocked the Champions League world last week by beating Olympiacos, 4-0, and they now play a significantly weaker Apollon side," he says.
He also likes Over 2.5 goals in the CZ Belgrade-FC Pyunik match (2:45 p.m. ET). "This one is going to get ugly fast," he says.
His final play is SE Palmeiras Draw No Bet (-110) against Atletico Mineiro (8:30 p.m. ET). "[Palmeiras] are the better team by every statistic," he says.
Hartstein closes out the show with one MLB play: Royals (+0.5) and pitcher Brady Singer to cover the first five innings against the White Sox (2:10 p.m. ET). "[Singer] is rolling," he says.
