Today's picks: Why Indians will cover vs. Reds, plus more MLB, NBA and PGA Tour picks for Friday

Rick Gehman connects with featured sports betting experts Mike McClure and Larry Hartstein on the Early Edge podcast, powered by SportsLine. The trio delivers their favorite picks for MLB, the NBA  and the PGA Tour for Friday, April 16.  

Mike has the much-needed NBA rundown, as so many teams are resting key players. He has updates on Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, Tobias Harris, Kevin Durant, Karl-Anthony Towns and other top stars. He also lets you know which teams are sitting several of their top guys, including the Thunder, Pistons, Raptors and more. Larry then caps off the SportsLine Storylines of the Day with his reflections on a historic week in the sports betting industry. 

Rick shares the SportsLine Play of the Day, backing the Cubs +1.5 over the Braves at 2:20 p.m. ET. The Chicago bullpen is fresher, and the Cubs are a better bet at home. 

Mike is on the Indians +105 over the Reds at 7:10 p.m. ET. "I like Logan Allen here. I think this is a good spot for him," he says. "I think he can navigate this Reds lineup. Meanwhile, it's really about the Cleveland Indians lineup against Jeff Hoffman. I'm not really sure how Hoffman still has a job at this level. He's not a good pitcher." Mike is also taking the San Francisco Giants -130 over the Marlins at 4:10 p.m. ET. He believes the pitching matchup strongly favors San Francisco.

Rick then leaps in with his latest selections for the RBC Heritage. He likes Stewart Cink over Lucas Glover, and Rory Sabbatini, who has played well in this event before, over Chesson Hadley and Tommy Fleetwood. He also shares a pick from the Coach, who recommends a highly motivated Will Zalatoris over Sungjae Im. 

Larry is on the Phillies -140 over the Cardinals at 7:05 p.m. ET. He is looking for the Philadelphia bats to heat up on Friday night. He also serves up a trio of NBA props. In Nuggets-Rockets at 8 p.m. ET, he is all about the Porters, going with Michael Porter Jr. Over 31.5 points, rebounds and assists, and Kevin Porter Jr. Over 25.5 points, rebounds and assists. In Pelicans-Wizards at 7 p.m. ET, Larry will continue to ride with triple-doubles leader Russell Westbrook to go Over 12.5 rebounds.
