Jonathan Coachman is joined by top sports betting experts Mike Barner, Justin Perri, and Larry Hartstein on the Early Edge podcast, powered by SportsLine. Get highlighted plays for the NBA, college basketball and the NFL for Tuesday, Jan. 11, and you can stream the show live every morning on the SportsLine YouTube page.
Mike takes a look at the Detroit Pistons, who upended Utah not long after knocking off Milwaukee. Will the Pistons upset Chicago next? Larry, the Coach and Justin examine the controversy surrounding the Draymond Green prop bet from Monday.
Mike's featured NBA play is the Grizzlies +2.5 over the Warriors at 8 p.m. ET. "The Grizzlies have won nine straight games, and in four of them they were underdogs," he says. "Yes, the Warriors have Klay Thompson back, but Draymond Green is out. The Warriors are 18-3 at home, but they are not as great on the road, 12-6."
Justin delivers a pair of college basketball picks, including Akron -7.5 over Ball State at 7 p.m. ET. The Zips have shown they can cover this number in recent meetings with the Cardinals. He is also on Stetson +6.5 over Jacksonville at 7 p.m. ET. The Dolphins may win, but the Hatters will keep the score close.
Larry looks ahead to Steelers-Chiefs in an AFC Wild Card round matchup on Saturday at 8:15 p.m. ET. He is taking Kansas City -12.5. Yes, the number is massive, but Larry provides the numbers to back the selection up and reminds us that the last meeting between these teams was a blowout.
