The Prodigy

Don?t let his age fool you, 24-year-old Michael Rusk is no stranger to the industry. He built his name by exploiting flaws in public betting. With his economics and statistics background, Michael uses multiple algorithms pooling with recency bias to produce profitable picks. Sharp action, regression, fading the public and closing line value are all things he considers before finalizing his very selective card. After losing five out of their last six games, the Cubs scream value. Chicago starter Yu Darvish is coming off two very impressive starts, going 13.0 innings and giving up just one earned run. The last time Darvish faced the Padres he was almost a 3-1 favorite. Let?s not let this value go to waste. Take the Cubbies to roll on the road in this one.

This is a spot where, more times than not, the Reds will give a profitable return. Entering this contest 26 games under .500, the Mariners are in experiment mode and giving the nod to rookie Justin Dunn. The pitching matchup is definitely on the Reds' side despite Tyler Mahle's terrible 2-11 record. The youngster has shown promise post All-Star break and had a great start (one earned run in 6.1 innings) on the road versus the Cardinals two starts ago. Hopefully that gives him the confidence needed to take out the lifeless Mariners. Edge goes to the Reds in this one.

The last time Miami pitcher Pablo Lopez started against the Brewers, the Marlins won 16-0. Yes 16-0. Lopez has been a bright spot for this young Marlins ball club and deserves much more respect from oddsmakers. Coming off a six run scoreless start against the Brewers in early June, I see a tremendous amount of value on the heavy home underdog Wednesday night.

We are getting the Red Sox at a very good price Wednesday night. Blue Jays starter Trent Thornton has a terrible track record versus the Red Sox. In fact, he has lost his last three starts versus Boston by a landslide, giving up 14 earned runs in just 10 and a third innings. That?s an ERA just under 10. Yikes. I like the Red Sox who are still in a fighting mentality to push for the Wild Card to test Thornton yet again.

For a team that enters Tuesday 10 games under .500, the Reds are actually six games above .500 as a favorite. This statistic is a rather large sample size and something we have to take note of. The Mariners have fell off the deep end, losing six straight. That streak doesn?t end here. Take the slight favorite and veteran Trevor Bauer on the road.
