Both clubs have been a bit disappointing so far. The Mustangs barely eluded an upset at Nevada in Week 0 as a 28-point favorite and lost a grinder to BYU 18-15 last week. Once considered a dark horse ACC title contender in its first year with the conference, SMU likely needs to win two of three on its current homestand to even feel on track for a bowl bid. The Horned Frogs squandered a 15-point second-half lead last week against UCF and, in this renewal of an in-state rivalry, I think there’s value on SMU team that has the slightly better talent and home-field advantage.
