It's about time that Rice gets away from the Houston metro area, after playing three local teams (Sam Houston, Texas Southern and UH). The SHSU and Houston games did not go well, however, with the Owls heavy losers to both. Temple transfer QB EJ Warner (Kurt's son) not having an easy time of it, either, already tossing 4 picks vs. just 3 TDP in three games. Against the Bearkats and Cougars, the Owls gained only 61 ypg rushing. Meanwhile, Army is rolling at 2-0, right at the top again in national rush stats as Jeff Monken has gone back to the traditional option after using the Pistol a year ago, and QB Bryson Daily again proving a perfect pilot for the offense. What has made the Army offense difficult to defend this year is because of the threat of the pass from QB Bryson Daily. With how disciplined they are on both sides of the ball, and how dynamic their option offense can be, I find it hard to believe that Rice can go into Michie Stadium and slow them down or have consistent answers.
