I am a HUGE fan of Cam Ward, and I love the fit for him in Miami. I am fully confident that the Canes will win here, but I think this number is too high. Second-year head coach Alex Golesh is doing an outstanding job at USF, and is one of the top young offensive coaches in college football. The Bulls will have a chip on their shoulder and will score some points here. Cam Ward will excel, but this game screams backdoor cover to me.
Miami impressed with a 41-17 rout of rival Florida in Week 1 before rolling to blowouts of Florida A&M and Ball State by a combined score of 118-9. But this is a dangerous spot for Hurricanes ahead of their conference opener against an improving South Florida club that is a dangerous home underdog. The Bulls trailed Alabama just 14-13 heading into the fourth quarter in Week 1 before imploding late. But last week, they piled up 562 yards of total offense in a 49-24 road blowout of Southern Miss. If Miami isn’t careful, this could easily be another one-score game late, and there’s value in taking the points.
I've got Miami -19 at South Florida but this is a game I could easily see Miami winning by three or four touchdowns much the same way that Alabama did 2 weeks ago to South Florida. Dating back to last year South Florida has won four of their last five games and covered all five including plus-30 at Alabama. The Miami defense is playing better than I thought but Cam Ward is much better than anticipated. So far he's got 11 touchdowns to one interception and he's been over 300 yards in all three of his starts. He handled all three of his starts easily including Florida which they won 41-17 against. It's going to be a route at South Florida. Miami to cover.
I love the Canes but ISF is very underrated. This is WAY too many points
