Half unit because Iowa will be without starting QB Cade McNamara the rest of the season and I'm not totally sure what backup Deacon Hill is (at least he got all the reps this week). That's normally fade central, but that Hawkeyes defense is still so good and obviously playing at home is a big factor. Purdue looked quite good last week but also has a couple of double-digit home losses on its resume. It apparently will be windy in Iowa City (What tall structure in the entire state exists that can knock winds down a few mph?) and that benefits the ground-based home side.
The Hawkeyes are getting docked for losing starting QB Cade McNamara for the year to injury, but I think there is a shift in offensive philosophy with Deacon Hill taking over. He's more mobile than a sore McNamara, and even against Michigan State we saw the wide receivers get more involved in the passing game after the change. Plus, do we trust Purdue to string together back-to-back strong performances after a rivalry win against Illinois? I'm not there yet, especially with the game in Kinnick.
