Where is Baylor's head entering this game? The Bears were blown out two weeks ago -- possibly looking ahead to TCU -- and then lost to the Horned Frogs on a game-ending field goal last week. They have nothing on the line against Texas on Friday. Meanwhile the Longhorns, who are playing on Senior Day, can still reach the Big 12 championship game with a win and a Kansas State loss. Texas also has been on a revenge tour against teams it lost to last season, going 4-1 with big wins over West Virginia, Oklahoma and Kansas. Baylor is the last foe on that tour. I'll take Texas.
A post-Thanksgiving rain is expected to dampen Austin, and brisk winds could force both teams to a ground game. Texas would welcome it. The Longhorns' rush defense is aces, an effective counter to Baylor's estimable running attack. Texas is allowing a tick over 20 ppg. With inclement weather in the mix, the Longhorns could exercise caution offensively to avoid turnovers in their quest for a league title game berth.
