Two weeks ago, the Cavaliers looked nothing short of dreadful in their first FBS game under new coach Tony Elliott in a 24-3 loss to Illinois that should have been even worse than the final score indicated. They didn't look a whole lot better last week in narrowly getting by a stubborn Old Dominion club. Although those performances are a major concern, the Cavaliers should cover Friday if they can perform anywhere near their talent level. Syracuse was extremely fortunate to get past Purdue last week and could be in a letdown spot while laying too many points.
