The Cowboys are still undefeated and their defense has been given some deserved credit for carrying the club while the offense has been uneven. They managed to get past iowa State last week but face a taller task against a Texas club that got on track last week with a rout of Baylor. Sam Ehlinger has had some big days against Oklahoma State and look for him to have another as the Longhorns still try to clear the sour taste left by losses to TCU and Oklahoma.

The Cowboys’ defense has been unreal on third downs, allowing opponents to move the chains just 19.3% of the time (11 for 57), and tops the Big 12 in red-zone touchdown percentage at 44.44% (4 of 9). That’s all a team needs to be in order to be successful in that conference. Both teams will try to grind it out as much as possible, which will send it under the total.

Iowa State was a really tough challenge for the Oklahoma State Cowboys last week, but they were able to pass with flying colors. This week they face a very inconsistent Texas Longhorns team, one that you can't truly trust from week to week. What you can trust however, is an Oklahoma State defense that has proved week in, week out that they are not an aberration, but a significant sign of continuity for a team gunning for a playoff birth.
