The Irish saw their offense get stuck in the mud a bit last week against an inspired Louisville defense. They should be able to get back on track against a Pitt defense that is nowhere near as good as its reputation and this total suggests. Moreover, freshman Joey Yellen was pretty decent last week in relief of injured starter Kenny Pickett and he should be better in this one. We missed the best of this number, but the Over is still solid as at least 45 points should hit the scoreboard.

Value is a rare commodity on a Notre Dame play. An inviting spread has resulted following the Irish’s dismal offensive effort against Louisville. A superb offensive line will generate more than a dozen points this time. It won’t take a lot to cover. Pitt’s three-game straight-up slide is mostly the offense’s fault. Regular QB Kenny Pickett (ankle) likely will be held out, leaving a backup to go against a defense ranked No. 2 in third-down efficiency. The Irish have covered in four of the last five roadies, while Pitt has not covered at home since its opener six games ago.

Notre Dame hasn't found a lot of success on offense in the passing game and is overly-reliant on running the ball. Saturday they'll be going against a Pitt rush defense that has been amazing this season. I don't think the Irish will be able to put up enough points in this game to cover a double-digit spread here.
