It looks like the Georgia defense is playing at an extremely high level. Up front along the offensive line, they Bulldogs have bullied opponents. This has allowed their run game to flourish and their QB Stetson Bennett IV to have success, keeping the offense on pace. Tennessee has won its games the old-school way: Run game and defense. However, if the Vols run into trouble against Georgia in the run game, and have to throw it more than they want, it could be a problem.
These teams are basically identical in terms of style. They are strong up front on both sides of the ball, have multiple running backs who contribute, stout defenses and don’t ask their quarterbacks to do too much. That, coupled with what should be terrible weather, should make this one of the ugliest games of the year. Old school as old school gets.
Georgia has steamrolled the Vols lately, but this is the best Tennessee team Jeremy Pruitt has had. I expect this game to be a lower-scoring, defensive affair, but the total is a little too low for me to feel comfortable going that direction. Instead I'll take the points with the Vols.
