Auburn QB Bo Nix is looking to build on a fantastic freshman campaign, one that saw him beat Oregon last year in the season opener. Kentucky has good talent along the offensive line, but is replacing Lynn Bowden at QB. While they do have some experience there, neither option gives them the same dynamic ability that Bowden did. I struggle to see how Kentucky's offense will have the sustained success needed to knock off the Tigers.
I don't have a lot of faith in Auburn's ability to compete for an SEC West title in 2020, but this is a good matchup for them. Kentucky's offense struggled last year with quarterback injuries, but even before the injuries, it wasn't a dangerous offense. I don't think it's going to be able to put up a lot of points against Auburn, but I do think Bo Nix and the Tigers can score on this Wildcats defense. Kentucky hangs for a while, but the Tigers pull away in the fourth.
There are too many unknowns on offense for both teams to send this one Over the total. It’s unclear what Kentucky’s offense will look like without Lynn Bowden and how quarterback Terry Wilson will look after missing most of last season. Meanwhile, Auburn’s offensive line went under a massive overhaul.
