Oklahoma State has aspirations of getting to the College Football Playoffs this year, and the Cowboys have the firepower on offense to do so. With QB Spencer Sanders, RB Chuba Hubbard and WR Tylan Wallace back in the fold, they shouldn't have a problem moving the ball at ease against a Tulsa defense that lost two players to the NFL.
One of the trends I've been tracking in 2020 is how teams perform in their season-openers. The trend that has really stuck out is what happens when two teams are playing their season-openers against one another. There have been 20 such games so far this season and the Under is 14-6. None of the six games that went over had a total higher than 55. The 20 games have featured an average of 50.4 points per game. Take the Under.
It's tough to go against an Oklahoma State team that has dominated this rivalry and should have one of the nation's top offenses behind returning 2,094-yard rusher Chuba Hubbard and a host of additional weapons that includes Washington State transfer Tay Martin at receiver. But Tulsa has enough weapons of its own to provide value with three-plus touchdowns. Baylor transfer Zach Smith returns at QB, and the Golden Hurricane have one of the deepest backfields in the country led by Shamari Brooks. Lok to grab 24 or better as the public weighs in on the Cowboys before kickoff.
