While I like what Bo Nix has shown so far as a true freshman starter, this is clearly his toughest test to date -- a true road game at Kyle Field against a tough Texas A&M team. The Aggies are probably still seething after losing to the Tigers last season in a game TAMU clearly should have won, and there's no doubt Jimbo Fisher has his squad up and ready for this game. While Texas A&M did get beat cleanly by Clemson, there was nothing embarrassing about that loss other than Kellen Mond's play at times. He will be better at home, and his competition on the other side in Nix is nowhere near as good as Trevor Lawrence.
This matchup is a rematch of one of the worst meltdowns of a team last season. Texas A&M let a sure win slip away by allowing two touchdowns in the final five minutes. Expect A&M to show pride this time around and get the win over a better Auburn team.
I like what Jimbo Fisher is doing at Texas A&M, and so far the Aggies have covered in two of the three games they've played, including a 24-10 loss at Clemson. Auburn has won and covered the past two meetings and all three games this season, but this is the Tigers' first true road game. Texas A&M had a nice practice game last week, and I look for the execution to continue with a win and cover against Auburn.
While he's had his moments in 2019, so far I'm mostly unimpressed with what I've seen from Bo Nix. Because of that, and because of the overall lack of explosiveness in the Auburn passing attack, I have a very hard time taking the Tigers on the road against an A&M defense that gave Clemson and Trevor Lawrence a difficult time. The Aggies win here comfortably.
This will be a defensive slugfest with two talented front sevens squaring off against offenses that struggle to block consistently. Aggies quarterback Kellen Mond was dreadful in Week 2 against a Clemson defense that compares favorably to Auburn's. Meanwhile, Auburn quarterback Bo Nix has only completed 52.4 percent of his passes this season. Both defenses will slow down the run and put the onus on the quarterbacks to move the chains. Mond and Nix will struggle to do that.
