Liberty coach Hugh Freeze, recovering from a serious illness, might work from the sidelines Saturday after being confined to the pressbox in the first two games. Yet his situation remains a distraction for the winless Flames. Of greater concern is a defense already decimated by injuries, with seven players ailing. Others have been forced to play out of position. Though Buffalo was ultimately blown out last Saturday by Penn State, it led 10-7 at halftime. The Bulls have struggled ATS lately against superior opponents but have covered six times in a row versus those with sub-.500 records.
