MILITARY BOWL -- Cincinnati has clearly been better than Virginia Tech this season. It's 10-2 while Virginia Tech limps in at 6-6. But you know what? AAC teams have been crushed in bowl games. They're 1-4 ATS so far this year, and 15-22 ATS in bowls since the formation of the conference. As favorites AAC teams have gone 7-12. The Hokies aren't a great team, but they're a Power Five team that's coming in to this game having played a lot better in its last two games of the season than it had been most of the year.

MILITARY BOWL -- Virginia Tech can thank its lucky stars in qualifying for a bowl, and coach Justin Fuentes’ 3-0 ATS record in the postseason is in jeopardy. Cincinnati’s formidable defense, ranked first in FBS for completion percentage, will be unsolvable for young QB Ryan Willis, and the Hokies’ rushing attack cannot carry the load. Tech closed the season in a 2-6 ATS dip. Cincy should put an exclamation point on an overachieving year with a cover.
