ARIZONA BOWL -- These clubs both feature multi-formation, spread offenses that average about 32 points per game. The matchup includes two of the more experienced quarterbacks in the country in Justice Hansen of Arkansas State and Ty Gangi of Nevada. The defensive units can be fragile, and the Red Wolves allow more than 200 rushing yards per contest. Look for plenty of offensive production and a pace that sends this Over the posted total.
ARIZONA BOWL -- A battle in Tucson, Arizona will take place between Arkansas State and Nevada. Thus far in bowl season the Sun Belt has shined. A team that typically has been a part of that group has been Arkansas State, led by a four-year starting QB in Justice Hansen. Yet grab the value on Nevada as the Mountain West is the most devalued conference in bowl season.
ARIZONA BOWL -- ASU has scored 240 points its last six games. QB Justice Hansen is solid completing 67 percent of his passes for 8.2 yards per pass and a 27-6 touchdown-to-interception ratio. Justice is a rSr. and ranked 11th in his draft class. Nevada scored 27 or more in five of its last six games. QB Ty Gangi is a 6-2 210 rSr. -- Gangi is the 34th ranked QB in the class.
ARIZONA BOWL -- You know, something tells me this game might not get the same kind of ratings as the other bowl games going on at the same time. Anyway, while I didn't watch these two teams extensively during the regular season, I have watched both on more than one occasion, and this is more a gut play based on that. The Nevada team I saw looked to be better than the Arkansas State team I saw, and I'm not sure why Nevada is the underdog in this game. In my estimation it should be favored by about 3.
ARIZONA BOWL -- No one talks about the Sun Belt Conference and how consistently good it's been in bowl games over the last 4-5 seasons. Arkansas State is one of the more consistent teams in that regard as well. Nevada, like most Mountain West Conference teams, are solid defensively and have a really good offensive line. Its issue is that the passing game and overall cohesiveness of the offense hasn't been there throughout the season. That'll be the case again in this one against the Red Wolves.
ARIZONA BOWL -- The list of opponents hardly qualifies as a murderers’ row, but Arkansas State’s closing kick is impressive nonetheless: four straight-up wins by an average margin of 22.5 points. QB Justice Hanson is the real deal. Under coach Blake Anderson, the Red Wolves (1-3 ATS and outright) could be better in the postseason. Nevada, however, has covered in two of its last eight bowl games. And will the Wolf Pack be fully awake for a kickoff that occurs at 10:15 a.m. on their body clocks? Lay the points.
